Using the latest research on brain based learning to help children study more effectively. What is brain based learning? The Great Schools Partnership uses the following definition in their Glossary of Educational Reform:
“brain-based education or brain-based teaching, like brain-based learning, refer to instructional techniques that are grounded in the neuroscience of learning—i.e., scientific findings are used to inform educational strategies and programs.”

During the study skills workshop children will be given the opportunity to practise using techniques which are based on the latest research on how the brain learns. Parents will have the background information explained to them and they will be shown how they can support their children in the development of good study habits that are based on these ideas. The aim is to develop independent learners who are able to study effectively.
For more information on the specific techniques see the Study Skills Page
